Play In A Day

Shakespeare's wonderful comedy of mischief, mayhem and love is now available as a Play in a Day. This new version, especially created for 35 KS2 students, is a perfect introduction to the world of Shakespeare. The students will work together as actors to create a fun, action-packed short performance.

Beatrice and Benedick hate each other and have sworn never to get married... to anyone! But Don Pedro and his friends have another idea and trick the stubborn pair into falling in love! Meanwhile, the evil Don John is determined to wreck poor Claudio and Hero's wedding... Will he get away with it?

Informing as much as it entertains, students will delight in this accessible reworking of the Shakespeare classic.

Play In A Day®

Based on National Curriculum topics, these short plays are produced in an ensemble style using inventive theatre techniques such as choral speech, stylised movement and mime.

The plays are for up to 30 pupils and are both accessible and fun and enable children of all abilities to develop their skills and confidence with an experienced theatre practitioner.

How the Day Works;

After registration the group spends time learning vocal and movement exercises designed to build their confidence and encourage them to work together. The children do not receive copies of the script as lines are given orally by the director. The day culminates in a short performance to the rest of the school before your school day ends, allowing the children to share their work. Lots of our schools choose to invite parents too!

This workshop is perfect for Shakespeare Week. Early booking is recommended to secure your desired date.
