KS2 / P5-7
Play In A Day

#NoLaughingMatter defines bullying and looks at how it can be resolved through support from peers and parents.

"Hey Laura, look, I'm sorry I was just having a joke earlier. Come on Laura, I fancy you that's why I'm really acting like this, honest... Haha! As if I'd fancy you! Hashtag jokes!!"

When is a 'joke' not funny? we follow Laura who works hard at school, Joe the class clown who likes to make others the butt of his 'hashtag jokes', and Raj who sent a picture to a friend and didn't foresee what could happen..

"I took a screenshot! It’s just that picture was so funny! But then… I think someone got hold of my phone, they whatsapped it to themselves… and then they shared it online and sent it to all the school!"

A Play in a Day for up to 30 KS2 pupils.

Working together as actors to create a fun, action-packed short performance, informing as much as it entertains, students will explore a wide range of topical issues.

Key themes:

-         the value of teamwork

-         self-expression

-         public speaking

-         confidence building

-         increased subject knowledge

'The workshop leader was a true pro and really got the best out of all the children. It was also great how he took ownership at the end and actually reinforced the learning about bullying with the rest of the school. Working with Konflux Theatre is more than just a Play in a Day or a day out of class … it is a holistic learning experience. Children are engaged, eager and enthusiastic to shine from the very first minute of meeting the facilitator. A powerful and enriching learning experience for all – even for teachers as they see different children shine a creative way.'           School in Devon
