Play In A Day

This Play in a Day is for up to 35 KS2 or 3 pupils. The pupils will work with a facilitator throughout the day and have the opportunity to share a short performance to an audience of their choice at the end of the day.

Hey, Pass it On: Commonwealth Games!

Athletes from 71 countries and territories are coming in from all over the world to compete at the ‘friendly games’. Forget about the Olympics – this is where it’s at and we’re going for gold. Apparently the Queen has sent a personal message – but it’s going the long way around. Maybe it will answer a few questions like what’s a Commonwealth? What does ‘legacy’ mean?... and who or what is a Tristan Da Cunha?!

Pass it On is a Play in a Day workshop that answers all the above and explores much, much more. Working with one of our highly experienced professional directors, the students will spend the day rehearsing and putting together a short performance celebrating the positives - from themes such as good sportsmanship and inclusion to thinking about our national identity… and what Billy Connolly does on his day off.

From the history of the Commonwealth Games with its army of elite athletes to our own aspirational thinking and the regeneration of Glasgow in bricks and mortar –  the countdown has begun and it's time for the baton to be passed to the next generation. Whether it’s a new world or Commonwealth record we’ll give Usain Bolt a run for his money as we hurtle towards the finish line before the bell goes.

Time to get out the flags and celebrate the success of the Commonwealth Games - Pass it On!
