In line with Place2Be’s Children’s Mental Health Week, we thought what better time to put together some simple ideas for a happy and healthy year.
More than ever we know just how important our Mental Health is and sometimes it’s the small things we do every day that can have a positive impact on our lives.
Journaling
There are so many ways to journal, the possibilities are endless. A simple way of clearing our minds is to grab pen and paper and write down our thoughts. It can be anything you may be struggling with or even a simple ‘to-do’ list to help you keep on top of things like homework or shopping.
Healthy Eating
Healthy eating doesn’t have to be boring, just everything in moderation. There are fantastic, nutrient rich recipes available everywhere and as long as we each have a healthy dose of fruits, vegetables and proteins, a little sweet treat won’t hurt us right? :)
Exercise
A little goes a long way, and even just a short walk can provide us with so many benefits and support our overall wellbeing. If you feel like being a bit more adventurous why not try running, sports or even dancing!
Talking
Talk! Talk! Talk! Just keep talking. This can be easier said than done, however grab a coffee with a friend, or spend time with loved ones and talk about anything and everything. A problem shared is a problem halved.
Do the things you love
Play a game, get creative with crafts, break out the games console or listen to music – what do you love to do in your spare time?
Days out
Days out don’t have to be costly, why not head to the park or take a long walk to help boost your mood. It’s proven that being in nature stimulates the body and mind, and physical exercise is also a huge benefit!
Additionally, if you are able why not go to your local cinema, try your hand at bowling or try a new sport at your local centre.
