We’re finally hopping into the last week of term which means one thing… Easter is just around the corner! We’re going to take a look at some of the fun things you could do this Easter Holiday along with some interesting bits about Easter and the history around this highly celebrated holiday!
Easter’s History.
The first recorded Easter dates all the way back to the second century and marks one of the most important events in the Christian calendar! This religious holiday celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from when he was crucified by Pontius Pilate. The Bible says that Christ Died on the cross on Good Friday (which is another holiday) and was buried for three days in a tomb in which he resurrected from on Easter Sunday. This day for Christians represents fulfilment of the prophecies and revelation of God’s plan for humankind, and celebrates both God and Jesus.
In more modern times, Easter is also very much a cultural celebration where family and friends come together over food and drink whilst swapping chocolate eggs and treats! Brits partake in an array of activities during this weekend like flocking to the seaside, decorating hard boiled eggs and even racing them!Egg Hunt!!
An absolute classic. Hide chocolate eggs around your home and garden and send your friends on the hunt! Why not switch thing’s up a little and hide different prizes such as toys, jokes and even puzzles. Make it a little more difficult too by hiding them in unique spots such as up trees, under rocks and behind furniture…
