October Round-Up

We’re at the end of another full month of the academic year – give yourselves a round of applause, a pat on the back and a well-earned sit down!

Here’s what we’ve been up to in October 2021:

We started the month with Road Safety Creative Learning Workshops in Slough, in partnership with Slough Borough Council. The workshops encouraged children to consider greener ways to get to school, and how to make sure they get there safe as they meet various characters and encounter situations they could well face in real life.

“Children thoroughly enjoyed it and definitely learnt about road safety. Great to get them thinking, and delivered in an engaging way. Emma was really friendly and had a great manner with the children!” – Willow Primary School

We headed up to Ravenswood Primary School in Newcastle upon Tyne with a series of 3 Shakespeare workshops: Much Ado About Nothing, Macbeth and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The bard’s work helped to inspire the children and our Play in a Day workshops helped them get to grips with the story and language. Look out for the next generation of Ian McKellens and Emma Thompsons!

“Following COVID lockdowns, Mark and Konflux Theatre allowed our children to get up and perform. They were quieter than in usual years, but the process of the day and the fact that they were able to share their work with the other two classes was fantastic.” – Ravenswood Primary School

As you will all be aware, October is Black History Month. This was the perfect opportunity to deliver our brand new Play in a Day: The History Train for the first time!  Two schools recieved the Black History workshop just before half term. Keep an eye out on our socials for #FeedbackFriday to see what they thought of it.

October has taken Konflux all over the UK, from Gateshead to Yeovil to Barry in Wales and everywhere in-between! Despite a fuel crisis and traffic challenges our facilitators have been out there delivering workshops, doing what they do best and everyone at Konflux HQ would like to say a massive THANK YOU to all of our facilitators – you’re stars!

We’ll see lots of you in November for Anti-Bullying Week alongside a variety of other workshops taking place over the month.

See you for the next blog!
