The King's Coronation Activity Ideas

The King's Coronation Activity Ideas!!

The new King will be coronated this weekend! There are so many fun ways to celebrate this momentous occasion in your classroom, so we have gathered a few of our favourite ideas in this blog for you!

Make a paper crown

Of course what would a coronation be without a royal crown? Your little ones can feel like Kings and Queens too with their very own paper crowns! There are so many ways you could make these, but our favourite is with these online templates you can download and print for free here!

Once you have printed it, you can decorate it anyway you like. If you want to get real creative you can use materials such as pompoms, glitter and even feathers!

Build a carriage to take you to the celebration!

Now this is a slightly bigger project which will required a lot of cardboard and adult assistance, but who doesn’t want their own royal carriage! Again there are so many ways to make one of these depending on what you want it to look like and how many resources you have. But if you have a large cardboard box, you can simply cut out the shape of the carriage using a Stanley knife in both sides of the cardboard box. Then use the remaining cardboard to create the back piece which will keep the sides together and maybe even a roof and some wheels. Next all you need to do it decorate it anyway you like!

If I was King for a Day

If you’re looking for something a little less crafty then this activity is perfect for you! Simply as the children to write or draw what they would do if they were King for a day. You could make it an open exercise or concentrate it on what they would do for others/the people of the country. I bet they will come up with some great ideas!
