Remembrance Day is coming up this weekend (11th November) and there are so many ways you can commemorate this important day in your classroom. Check out just a few of our ideas below!

Create your own Poppies

If you simply search on the internet you will find a wide range of create your own Poppy ideas, from cut out templates to more elaborate designs. You could print out/follow one of these examples or come up with your own way for your class to create their own Poppies.

Remembrance Poem

Many poems have been written about the war and Remembrance Day. You could read a few to your class, they could perform them or you could even let them write their own. How far you study the poems can depend on the age and ability of your class.

Who are we remembering? 

Sometimes it's easy for kids and adults to associate Remembrance Day with the Poppy and forgot what it is we are actually remembering. Take the time to explore some examples of the service men and woman we are meant to be honoring on Remembrance Day.

Remembrance Day Display

There are so many ways you could create a display for Remembrance Day in your classroom. And the kids could help! Why not create a collage of Poppies which make up the silhouette of a soldier? Or create a display of a large field full of poppies. There are so many ways you can display your love for the service men and woman in your classroom!
