International Woman's Day Activities

International Woman's Day is one of the most important days of the year, it's a day to celebrate woman. But it's also a day to remember the history of woman's rights and the challenges woman still face today. In this blog we have collected a few of our favourite classroom activities to help you celebrate International Woman's Day!

Inspirational Woman Posters

There are so many woman that have been inspirational both in the past and present, why not ask each pupil to create their own poster about the woman they feel most inspired by. All of these posters together can create a wonderful display which can extend the celebrations and create a lasting impact.

Role Play Woman in World War II

We often teach children about the experience of the solider and the evacuated children during the war, but woman’s lives changed forever too. Why not role-play some of the jobs the woman had to take over during the war, including building weapons! You could create pieces of props and costumes, do character studies and build empathy for the everyday lives of the real woman during World War II.

Create a plaquard

The woman’s rights protest might be over for now, but that doesn't mean there isn't anything to shout about. Protest were a huge part of woman gaining rights, explore this topic by creating your own placard’s for an issue they believe is still affecting woman.
