Healthy Eating Week 2017

We are officially on the countdown to the Summer holidays! Can you believe how fast this year has gone? But just before we get ready to head off on our jollies, there are still some important themes to focus on in the meantime.

As you may know, it is Healthy Eating Week this week (Monday 12th – Friday 16th June 2017) so it is a great opportunity for us all to get thinking about keeping fit and eating healthily just in time for the holidays.

So what can we do to ensure that we are all eating healthy?

  • Eat 5 a day of fruit and vegetables.
  • Swap fizzy drinks for water (eight glasses if possible).
  • Swap chocolate and crisps for carrot sticks and yoghurts.

BNF are official supporters of Healthy Eating Week and their website has lots of information about eating healthy and even includes facts, stories and even cooking tips for a healthier life. Click Here for more information.

Furthermore, here are some great ideas for creating fun, healthy food for kids this Summer!

As well as eating healthily, we also need to make sure that we get plenty of exercise to keep us fit. I am sure that most of you will be holding your annual Sports Day across this week, which is another great way to promote an active lifestyle. So on the day make sure you have a healthy breakfast, drink lots of water and more importantly, have lots of fun!

Summer is also a great time to get outside and maybe go for a bike ride, have a nice walk around a local park or zoo, or simply get together with your friends for a game of football.

Here at Konflux we would also like to help with being healthy and we have our very own Play in a Day workshop for this called ‘Healthy Living’ for KS2, and ‘Super Fred’ for KS1.

These workshops have a fast-paced and fun look at our diets, particularly the effects food has on our bodies and how we can achieve a balanced diet.

For more information, please feel free to give me a call in the office on 01937 833 006.

We can’t wait to hear from you!
